Production Update: Rosemary Street Expands Its World with Episodes 4 & 5
The world of Rosemary Street continues to grow in exciting ways as production moves forward on Episodes 4 and 5. These episodes represent a major turning point for the series, introducing an incredible lineup of new characters, expanding family stories, and welcoming an outstanding group of talented actors to our cast.
While the first three episodes introduced audiences to the heart of Charles Village and the lives of the Daniels family, Episodes 4 and 5 broaden the community, bringing new friendships, family connections, and unexpected challenges that will shape the future of the series.
One of the biggest additions is R & B singer and actor (New Jack City) Christopher Williams as Mr. Slater, a charismatic teacher whose presence at school begins to influence several of our younger characters in surprising ways.
Joining him is Broadway and television actress Brandi Burkhardt as Abby Sommers Daniels, bringing another layer to the Daniels family and adding new emotional depth to the story.
Award-winning actress, comedian, and writer Rain Pryor joins the cast as Principal Alice Woodberry, a strong and compassionate school leader determined to guide her students through some of the most important moments of their lives.
Fans of Elena Moscatt's original 1998 television series Jamie's Way will be thrilled to see Krysten Klipa step into the role of Jamie Watts, introducing a character whose history stretches back decades in Elena's creative universe. Jamie's arrival not only connects two generations of storytelling but opens the door to exciting new relationships and possibilities within Rosemary Street.
Adding both humor and heart, Derek Blazer appears as the neighborhood security guard, Mickey Dawson, whose unique perspective makes him an unforgettable part of the Rosemary Street community.
Music legend and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer Gina Schock joins the cast as Jeannie Guiles, the spirited owner of the fictional version of Baltimore's legendary Ottobar. As the heart of one of the neighborhood's favorite gathering places, Jeannie brings music, laughter, and plenty of unforgettable moments to the series. Adding an extra touch of Baltimore authenticity, the real-life owner of the Ottobar, Tecla Tesnau, appears as Jeannie's hardworking assistant. Joining them behind the bar is longtime 100.7 The Bay producer Donna Jean Rumbley, who plays Barbie, the Ottobar's head bartender and one of Jeannie's most trusted confidantes. Fans will also spot Baltimore television favorite Marty Bass of WJZ-TV, who has a recurring role throughout the series as Hank Franklyn, another colorful member of the ever-growing Rosemary Street community. Together, these familiar Baltimore personalities help blur the line between fiction and reality, making Rosemary Street a true celebration of the people, places, and spirit that define Charm City.
Episodes 4 and 5 also introduce the next generation of the Hunter family.
Beloved actor and comedian Lil JJ joins the series as Jaxton Hunter, while rising young actor Makenzie Washington portrays Harpo Hunter. As Dolores Hunter's grandchildren, the two bring fresh energy, humor, and heartfelt family moments that deepen one of the series' most beloved storylines.
The Hunter family continues to grow with two familiar Baltimore faces.
Known around the world for his unforgettable performance on HBO's The Wire, Tray Chaney joins Rosemary Street as Dr. Frank Hunter, Dolores' devoted son. Alongside him is Mark Chaney as Frank's brother, Billy Hunter, bringing even more richness to the Hunter family's story and their connection to the neighborhood.
Together, these remarkable performers help transform Episodes 4 and 5 into some of the most ambitious chapters of Rosemary Street yet. Their performances expand the emotional landscape of the series while staying true to the show's central message—that every neighbor has a story worth telling.
Behind the scenes, our cast and crew have continued to pour their hearts into creating an authentic portrait of Baltimore's Charles Village neighborhood. Every scene is filmed with the goal of celebrating the people, history, resilience, humor, and compassion that make this community so special.
